GRANDPARENTS DAY!

We were so lucky to have lots of Grandparents join us in our classroom for Grandparents day. We loved sharing our whanau tree with our Grandparents. We then made photo frames with our Grandparents which had a photo of us in it. Our Grandparents were very happy to be able to take this away with  them at the end of the day. Thank you to all Grandparents that came to share the day with us.

We went hunting around the school for different shapes. We have been learing about what makes one shape different from another. We are learning about sides and corners of a shape. Here are a few pictures of what we found.

We love our Grandparents!

We love our Grandparents! We have worked hard to produce our portraits of our Grandparents. We have been learning about shapes in K2 and we have found that we can transfer that learning and use it in art. By following simple instructions we each created a drawing of our Grandparent. Enjoy reading why we love them so dearly.

We love our Grandparents!

We have been learning about shape in K2. So we used this knowledge to create our own portraits of our Grandparents. By listening to instructions and using shapes we know we created art work that we are all so proud of!

Enjoy looking at our art work and reading about why we love our Grandparents!

Book Character Dress Up!

Don't we look fantastic!
K2 really got into the dress up spirit last Friday to help celebrate a great book week. We love dressing up and it also gave some of us the opportunity to talk and learn about book characters. We particulary liked hearing what each other had dressed up as.

Is anyone there?

Nastacia is using an olden day telephone at the Waipawa Settler's Museum. "We have cell phones now and they fit in your pocket," said Nastacia. We wondered how they used to phone different people, because we couldn't see any buttons to push. Lucky we were in the right place to ask questions and find out the answers to our questions.

Millie's Museum Moment....

Millie is at the Waipawa Settler's Museum and she is having a go at writing with the old style writing tip pens. Millie found it a bit tricky as the ink kept running everywhere. You did a great job Millie.
