Jump Rope for Heart

Wow on Friday we had so much fun skipping in the Jump Rope for Heart day.The school turf was set up with different skipping stations for us to rotate round.We had been practising different ways of skipping during PE lessons and had even tried out different lengths of ropes.It was great to have some of the senior children to help turn the really long ropes.😃 Here are some photos from the fun day.It was great to have some our families there to support and encourage us during our skipping.

We learned how to make dinosaurs out of geometric shapes, used our problem solving skills to solve puzzles, and learned how to play snap with a deck of cards by finding matching numbers and suits.  Lots of great learning and fun!

Police Dog Visit

Today we had Constable Chris visit with her colleague,Constable Mike.Constable Mike brought his police dog Dirk along to show us his amazing tracking skills.Kirk is only 18 months old.We were very impressed to see Dirk respond  to voice and hand signals.

Skipping

We are keeping active by practising our skipping skills. It is showing to be something we need lots of practise doing! We are trying to remember to put the rope behind us when we start, then FLICK over and JUMP! This could be something you do at home as well.

Discovery Learning

Having fun at discovery learning time.

We have discovery learning every second week on a Friday.During this time we have the opportunity to visit different classrooms and choose what activity we would like to try.We can meet up with friends from other classes and even make new friends.This term we are focusing on the key competency of

"participating and contributing."
