Arataki Honey Visit
Our first Inquiry Learning focus this term is based around the question "Why do we need insects?"
We enjoyed a trip to the Arataki Honey Centre to begin our wonderings, questions and discussions.
During our trip we enjoyed using sheets of wax to make candles. We watched videos to see how bees made honey and how beekeepers extract the frames from the beehives for the factory. We were able to dress up in beekeeper suits and view bees in their hives through glass windows. We all learnt a great deal about bees and really enjoyed the bus trip to and from the honey centre.

Skipping
We are keeping active by practising our skipping skills. It is showing to be something we need lots of practise doing! We are trying to remember to put the rope behind us when we start, then FLICK over and JUMP! This could be something you do at home as well.
